Rocky Harbour Town Council met with Premier Andrew Furey to discuss opportunities and challenges affecting our Town. They discussed items including:
⁃ Completion of the West Link Road project (a provincial road)
⁃ The status of Municipal Capital Works applications related to the Town’s sewer outfall, shoreline erosion, waterline replacement for Main Street South and Harbour Drive, and street upgrades at Parsons Lane, Shears Village, Juniper Lane and Spring Lane.
⁃ Provincial culverts along Main Street ⁃ The condition of provincial portions of Route 430 North of Cormack
⁃ Gas prices
⁃ The status of tourism, including impacts from the shortage of rental cars
⁃ The status of previous applications related to a new fire truck
⁃ Regionalization
Premier Furey provided good news on many of these items, and Council is pleased with the positive developments. The Town of Rocky Harbour is eager to share details with you as they are officially announced.
