Chris hails from Grand Falls/Windsor but spent the majority of his life (about 34 years) in the Town of Gander. He and his wife Joan have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren - all living in Alberta. Joan and Chris are both retired and have been living in Rocky Harbour for the last 12 years- a place they proudly call home. Chris started out his career as a journalist with the VOCM network in the newsrooms at Grand Falls/Windsor and Gander. Next, he was a field worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador Rural Development council working with 53 development associations throughout Newfoundland & Labrador. He finished out his career in various provincial government departments focusing primarily on Rural & Business Development. Upon retiring in Rocky Harbour, he’s worn many hats including fish monitor, census taker and Liquor Store Cashier. He has given his time as a volunteer on several fronts and is currently a member of the Gros Morne Co-op. Chris believes that his background, both professionally and at the volunteer level, will prove invaluable as a member of the Rocky Harbour Town Council. In his spare time, Chris and his wife Joan love hiking, walking, outdoor adventures and have a passion for travel.
